Paola Velardi Home Page
Paola Velardi is full professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Roma “La Sapienza”. She obtained her “Laurea” degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Roma “La Sapienza” in 1978. Her research interests include Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and the Semantic Web.

SSI – a state of art knowledge-based Word Sense Disambiguation algorithm.
TermExtractor: a web application that helps a web community to extract and validate relevant domain terms in their interest domain, by submitting an archive of domain-related documents in any format.
TAV – a tool to browse and validate an automatically learned taxonomy or ontology.
Valido – a tool to help human annotators in the task of semantically tagging texts. It is based on the SSI algorithm.
OntoLearn – a tool and a set of algorithms to acquire a lexical ontology fully from scratch
